It took a bit longer than expected, but I finally found the time to test 1.6.
In one word, it just works flawlessly !
Thanks a lot, big relief for me, thats great!
Thanks very much for your time, Peter.
Best regards and dark skies!

Hi,

I had similar problems with my Atik 11000. I have just tried version 1.6 of the atik driver. In my case it works when binning mode is set to 2 or higher. But when I take unbinned images the download never completes. Also the temperature indicator lights up red after a little while. The only way to get the camera working again is by powering down and reconnecting the power (and restart indi server as well).

I have attached the message log that 'indiserver -vvv indi_atik_ccd' creates. Hopes this provides a hint to what is causing this problem.

Best regards,
Camiel

Sorry, my fault... Can you try it again with this command?

atik_ccd_test -long 1.0

Atik 11000 doesn't work (with my driver) with exposure time shorter than 1s, I don't know why. Peter

Hi Peter,

Here is the output with the '-long 1.0' option.
By the way, the version 1.1 of atik_ccd_test that I am still running on my raspberry pi
does work without this option. Just in case that this is useful to you, I have included that
log file as well.

Hi Camiel, thank you... It seems, that I have look at the change in 1.6. I added some delays due to temperature sensor issue and it seems, that it affects something else as well, but not on my machine or my camera :( Peter

Pls. can you try it with version 1.7? Now delay is used just for temperature reading command, otherwise it is the same as with 1.5. Peter

Hi Peter,

Unfortunately the problem is still there. I have attached the output from the atik_ccd_test program.

Camiel, this is something different, camera didn't initialise, try to reconnect (usb and power). Peter

Hi Peter,

I have tried all kinds of things (waiting longer for the camera to initialize, connect USB after booting the PC, etc.)
but downloading the test image keeps failing. This both happens when I have the camera connected straight to my
Raspberry Pi and via a USB hub to my laptop. I have compared the differences in the log files of atik_ccd_test
versions 1.1 and 1.7 which I have attached. There appear to be no major differences and in both I find the following message

<- AtikCameraImpl::ping 0
unlock()
failed to connect device!!!
<- AtikCameraImpl::open 00 - retry
-> AtikCameraImpl::open()
libusb_claim_interface() -> LIBUSB_SUCCESS / LIBUSB_TRANSFER_COMPLETED
libusb_set_interface_alt_setting() -> LIBUSB_SUCCESS / LIBUSB_TRANSFER_COMPLETED
-> AtikCameraImpl::writeFW()

I guess this what you mean with failing to initialize?
Despite of this the version 1.1 test program succeeds in loading the test image.
I am starting to wonder whether there are different firmware versions in our cameras. ( I just
had this problem with another brand.) My camera is six years old now.

Hope you have some hint on what I might be doing wrong here.

Best regards,
Camiel

Hi Peter,
A short addition to the above. The camera initialization error only seems to occur the first time
running the atik_ccd_test program after powering up the camera. This is of course for version 1,1.
