Oops... This driver is installed and I see it in Device Manager - KStars (look at the attached picture).
... but I don't see it in Ekos menu.

Isn't it installed because you built 3rd party drivers from source at some point? Package indi-full doesn't install indi_mgenauotoguider for me.

So first thing is that the MGen is registered under "Aux" instead of "Auxiliary". I was looking at the code of Ekos, and from what I read and from what you showed me, I assume the algorithm building the driver tree is working (it parses indidrivers.xml and checks for the executable presence before adding the driver to the tree).

But I don't know yet which part of the code is filling the Ekos device configuration...

That also doesn't explain why the driver isn't installed, but I'll double check this fact.

I used a fresh Lubuntu 17.04.

Installing package kstars-bleeding 5:17.12+201712210725~ubuntu17.04.1 results in kstars 2.8.9. I know this is due to ppa struggling to rebuild.

Installing package indi-full 1.4~201710281604~17.04.1 results in no MGen driver executable available.

Device manager shows Lacerta MGen with the phone icon, and Ekos profile editor does not list it in the drop-down. Which means the driver is currently only supported as remote resource.

In order to make this driver usable locally where indi-full is installed, it seems to me the ppa is missing the MGen driver dependency specifically. How can I help?

What is the architecture of your computer?
it has 32-bit or 64-bit?

Sorry for not mentioning, the Lubuntu I created for the test was a 64-bit virtual machine.

Hey Oleg. Does the Mgen Driver work there?

I confirm the MGen driver is not available on the Ubuntu 16.04 Astronomy neither (nice distribution you have there). I'll file a bug ticket on INDI github directly.

Thanks to Jasem, indi-mgen is now provided by the ppa for Ubuntu 16.04, 17.10 and 18.04 for x64 and arm platforms.

Once you follow indilib.org/download/ubuntu.html, the ppa is configured as a package source. From there you can either use "sudo apt-get update indi-mgen" to update that driver specifically, or use the default package manager UI in your distribution to locate updates in a more generic manner.
