I have been looking for a SBC with more memory than the Pi3 and came across this one:

libre.computer/products/boards/aml-s905x-cc/

I can install Ubuntu Mate 18.04 on it and KStars and Indi installation proceeds without errors, but when I start KStars, it fails with a Segmentation fault. Otherwise, the little machine works fine, in fact, I am right now writing this comment on it.

Has anyone come across this and found a solution?

No idea. You can try to compile KStars on it yourself. So both the PPA version and Ubuntu Mate versions of KStars crash?

Do you get some sensible info when you start KStars from the command line? Perhaps it prints some info that can help you debug this situation.

A ton!

This may be the most useful. There are unresolved dependencies due to some older versions of lib*s.

I could not find a way of copying the text within the crash report. My suspicion is, the developers of that board have compiled a buggy version of Ubuntu and KStars is not compatible with it.

But I am not a programmer. That will have to wait until my retirement.... Whenever that is going to be.

In the year 2525, perhaps....?

PS: I should have mentioned: Trying to fix the broken packages or trying to upgrade them doesn't seem to work.

Yes, tried all variations, including purging the PPA version.
This is the error report I am getting.
