Great! Then I shouldn't need to recompile the driver separately. I guess that the fix is part of the standard package now.

Dear Jasem,

I have been updating whatever I could think about (apt-get update, ...upgrade, updating ppa, indi-full). When updating the indi-asi driver, this is what happens

astroberry@astroberry:~$ sudo apt-get install indi-asi
[sudo] password for astroberry:

indi-asi is already the newest version (0.7~201712050918~ubuntu16.04.1).
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
indi-asi : Depends: asi-common but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Should I run apt-get -f install?

Many thanks,

Helge

Dear Jasem,

Great, this is now fixed. ASI driver now working again. But...apologies, now same issue with the EqMod driver, see log file...

Could you have a look?

I've now tested the issue with the crashing driver for the asi filter wheel. After the fix by ZWO (thanks chad from ZWO), and the update by Jasem, it now works.
First try failed, until I figured out that my USB3 cable had a kink. Replacing it temporarily by a USB2 cable in the USB3 connector works.
So, for me this issue is closed.
(But I haven't tested the eqmod driver, that Helge seems to have issues with ...)

Again, thanks to all involved and coming with suggestions. Fyi, it turned out to be a cross compiler issue in the asi driver.

Hi Wim,

The EqMod driver is working again, I was updating the driver. Not sure if that was the problem or just me...

I am increasingly aware that some of the issues I recently experience - when starting up the indi drivers - is that “power” matters, when using a powered usb hub, I have a less issues...the usb hub integrated in the asi071 does not always suffice, depending on the device.

Thanks, Helge.
Good to know. Do you use an eqdir cable? Mine works best when connected directly to the computer (raspberry pi), and not through a hub. The problem is that the Rock only has 3 usb ports; one for the camera (usb3), one for the wifi dongle, and one for a hub. If the eqdir needs to be connected to the board directly, I will need to connect the wifi dongle to the hub. Or install a router and use an ethernet cable. That would be one more device to tinker with on a non-permanent setup. I have the hardware, but like to avoid using it.

Dear Wim,

Yes, I am using the Pierro Astro eqdir cable/interface. And I am also missing a fourth USB port. Thought about giving the Bluetooth EQ adapter a try - at least one less cable... .

Outside I am using an outdoor router, in conjunction with a WiFi dongle. But that one I have cannot be connected via Ethernet.
