Alignment - Issues - What is the correct procedure.

Hi there,

So far I am very happy with the RPi3 setup. It works very well. However I am having issues with Alignment solving.

1: There have been so many changes to the tutorials, they are a bit dated and there are many changes. Is there an up to date guide how to polar Align.

2: When I upload to online version nova.astrometry.net the server says error. I have my own API key.

3: If I use the offline mode, I get error too. Please try again.

4: I have downloaded all the index files - large amount of space. My system says I only have 2GB left of space. How can I increase the side. I used 64GB SD on ubunta Mate.

5: Is there a way I can save my fits to my Mac from the RPi automatically?

Thanks

1. Alignment module official documentaion
2. Screenshot?
3. Logs/screenshot? What file are you trying to solve?
4. No need to download all files, just the necessary one for your setup as explained in the Alignment module documentation above.
5. You can use Ekos on Mac (still in development, DMG should hopefully be available soon), and just keep INDI at the RPI3. On the other hand, if you have Samba on the RPI3, you can just move all the files there. If you have running Ekos directly on the RPI3, there is no way to automatically move the files somewhere else.

What is the image you're trying to solve? Post that along with your mount focal length and CCD pixel size.

My mount was setup to fl 900mm aperture 120 Skywatcher ed120.

My CCD was canon 40D pixel size 5.7 x 5.7 µm.

Hope that is fine for you

You used that JPEG for load and slew? where is the original image captured by the canon? RAW?

No this was uploaded to astonomery.net. The fits file is on the RPi and is a Raw file fits.

Manage to get it working, but now I get this message Failed to retrieve job ID. and JSon error during parsing (illegal value).

So I couldn't solve the image using online astrometry as it said "Internal server error" probably due to some issues with the server. I then tried "Load and Slew" using offline solver with the same image and used the blind solver option and it solved fine here. If you have the original RAW or FITS file then post a link to it. But the jpeg you posted solves file with load & slew

Yes it works well, Just trying to align but having a few issues, with the solving JSon error during parsing (illegal value). and I get this too Slew complete. Target accuracy is not met, running solver again,

But I am getting there
