I am a bit confused with all the clients (INDI For Java, wINDI, jINDI, INDI Web Manager, etc.) and project out there...
Right now I am running INDI/Kstars/Ekos on the same machine running Kubuntu. I have some non-astro related constraints that would be solved if I could run windows on the laptop and INDI on a RPI at the scope.
I installed Kstars on a different windows machine and I see that I can launch the configuration screen of Ekos, but before I go further and add the RPI, can anyone confirm that this will work ?
I am aware that I could use virtualbox but would like to avoid that.

Yes it works very well !
But astrometry can't run on windows, and your pi might be a little slow to solve fields.

I found the solution in another post regarding plate solving. Just install ANSVR Local Astrometry.net solver and change the solver to the local adress port 8080 as describe in this document stellarmate.com/support/ekos/align.html#h2-1-1-windows
Will I need to install INDI web manager also ?

Did you have any issues regarding the download of FITS or previews (for example when doing PA or plate solving ?) how do you connect to the RPI ? USB/Ethernet or WIFI ? I was thinking of connecting to the RPI using WIFI and the RPI as an hotspot...

I would have liked to stay full Linux but as of next week I will have to install non astro software that only run on Windows so I have to go back to windows...
Dual boot would be another option or to buy another hdd that I could switch when needed ... Not decided yet but at least now I have the new option of running kstars on windows
Thanks for the answers!
