I had a similar problem with my Canon EOS 700D. I solved it by setting the Auto Power Off setting of the camera to Disable. This needs to be done on the camera itself and it is not an Ekos setting.

Thanks wvreeven for reply, change any option in camera firmware is my first test, only not found solution ( Auto Off is already disabled in all my cam ).

Last night I ran into the same problem again. My Canon camera became unresponsive and I got the same error message as reported by pcxz. Just now I managed to easily reproduce it. Simply connect the camera with a USB cable to a laptop or PC. Start KStars and Ekos. Start INDI and Ekos will detect the camera. In the INDI control panel, select the camera tab and click Disconnect. Unplug the USB cable and plug it back it. Click the Connect button and the error will appear:

2017-10-13T18:31:31: [ERROR] Can not open camera: Power OK? If camera is auto-mounted as external disk storage, please unmount it and disable auto-mount.
2017-10-13T18:31:31: [ERROR] Camera_get_config failed (-2): Bad parameters

I attach a verbose log in case it helps track down the issue.

Yeah, that's expected behavior. If you use indi_canon_ccd then it binds to a specific USB port on startup. This is to make it support multiple cameras in one driver. So once you disconnect USB and and replug, the usb port has changed and you can no longer connect. If you use indi_gphoto_ccd, you can disconnect USB and reconnect just fine since it is not bound to specific USB port.

Hi knro, yes I already test with indi_gphoto_ccd, and in effect read cam, only not remember precisly why, not want use indi_gphoto_ccd!! ..probably because indi_gphoto_ccd not remember value of cam ( pixel height width ecc.. ) ?? ..now i am in photo session tomorrow retest indi_gphoto_ccd and post log.

Thanks as always, you are always ready to solve any problem.

The only difference is GPhoto driver is generic and can only one camera at a time, while Canon driver is specific to Canon and operate multiple cameras. They both should remember pixel information.

I have tested and confirm what knro said, well when use only one camera use indi_gphoto_ccd.

The problem of value different is simple, if attach, with indi_gphoto_ccd, canon 1000D ( have personal value ), at next session I attach 500D ekos use value of 1000D ( indi_gphoto_ccd use same config file name for all cam connected ) no problem I change at hand.

Thanks and excuse my english.
