Hi every one,

I have been using Kstars & Ekos only for a few weeks.
Although I´m only using Ekos for remote control my SynScan Skywatcher mount, I see what fantastic possibilities there are within Kstars amd Ekos.
So I would like also to control my Auto Guiding software Lin_Guider as external guider inside Kstars (I have the Starlight Express Lodestar X2).
And additionally I want to remote control my Sony Alpha 7s camera, what I´m doing at the moment with gphoto which works very well.
The goal is to control these two devices in Kstars in order to do dithering.
So I installed the drivers as follows:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mutlaqja/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indi-gphoto

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mutlaqja/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indi-sx

But any time I start Kstars and then Ekos I get the error:
Kstars detected INDI driver indi_gphoto_ccd crashed. Please check INDI server log in the device manager.
The same for the driver indi_lx_ccd.

Sorry, but I´m beginner with Ubuntu:
Shall I write your command exactly, as you wrote? The | is the grep sign, right?
But I shouldn´t write "grep"?

Just copy and paste the command exactly as I wrote it. The | is called a pipe. It will take the output of the first command and give that as an input to the second command. The second command is grep and, yes, you should type it.

The “-l” bit is a dash and a lower case L. The command gives info about all packages that have “indi” in their name. The ones that are installed have “ii” at the start of the info line and I am trying to help you find out which indi packages have been installed on your system.

OK thanks. It looks like you have all indi packages installed so that’s not the problem. I am afraid I cannot help any further. Let’s see if Jasem has an idea what might be going on.
