sorry still crashing.
Maybe my problem is a different one. I got crashes with 2.9.3, 2.9.4 and now 2.9.5.

deleted kstars app. downloaded and installed kstars 2.9.5 again.
still no success.
are there any hidden config files I have to delete manually?
strange thing is, that on one evening kstars 2.9.3 worked perfectly and the next day when I tried to start it, it crashed. I am pretty sure that I didn't changed anything in the meantime.

Ok, I have updated the KStars Mac DMG. There was a typo in the build script on the macdeployqt line. That explains why the qt.conf file was not created and why the plugins were not exported correctly. wvreeven helped me track down the issue. Please try the dmg again as soon as possible.

Florian, that's strange. For me KStars is starting up fine now.

tried to start Kstars from the terminal
and tried to start it with DYLD_PRINT_LIBRARIES=1 /Applications/kstars.app/Contents/MacOS/kstars
still crashing.

attached the terminal protocol and the DYLD protocol

Solved the Problem using "app cleaner" and a fresh install. Thank you Wouter for the hint to this very helpful little program!
I think deleting the /Libary/Application Support/Kstars files was the solution.

the downside is, I lost all my configurations and even worse my objects in the observation planner. should have saved that before deleting. :S grmpf. not happy.

Do you have a backup? Time Machine? You can restore the files you like and still keep the newer versions of the others.
