I decided I wanted to try the newer stuff in Kstars 3.3.7 (especially the new ASTAP Astrometry...
I have :
- Windows 10
- Visual Studio Comunity 2017
- followed instructions for installing & building KDE from windows
Here
-Finally, ran
craft kstars
then
craft --run kstars
Screen fires up fine & all runs great...
BUT when I try to connect to a virtualbox Ubuntu, with the latest build of INDI on it, the ccd_simulator crashes... no matter what debug I turn on, I do not get any meaningful output in the logs at all - just the telescope_simulator and ccd_simulator connects but then BOOM... kstars exits!
I tried the stock 3.3.6 install & it works perfectly.... any suggestions or pointers?
Addendum:
I just noticed 3.3.7 is available from the kstars download - I get the same issue with that one too!
FYI, the Virtualbox config does not change.... just when I run 3.3.6 all works... 3.3.7 (my recompile and the latest download) crashes when the ccd_simulator connects
Yeah, looks like im seeing the same or similar issue.
Kstars 3.3.7 crashes on connecting with indi since I upgraded from 3.3.6.
Kstars log has no output of value indicating the issue, all I have are entries in Windows event viewer that show something related to QtWidgets.dll.
Wonder if this might be a compiler platform issue, half tempted to use the QtWidgets. dll from 3.3.6.
Hmm, just updated my Windows version of KStars to 3.3.7 and now it crashes on attempting to connect with INDI. Never been a problem before and worked perfectly yesterday. Running the latest nightly build on my odoid and everything works running locally. So it is a problem with the Windows version. No time to troubleshoot tonight. Any ideas anyone? I will have a proper look tomorrow.
