While I'm at my observatory, I'm testing the Dome / Telescope lock policies with the simulator before I try it for real...

test #1:
mount (in park position - counter weight horizontal) and roof started as parked
goal: deploy the telescope

1_1:
Dome parking policy set to: Ignore dome
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!

1_2:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome locks
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: Cannot unpark mount when dome is locking

1_3:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome parks
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!

1_4:
Dome parking policy set to: Both
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: Cannot unpark mount when dome is locking

1_5:
Dome parking policy set to: Ignore dome
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!

1_6:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome locks
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: Cannot unpark mount when dome is locking

1_7:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome parks
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!

1_8:
Dome parking policy set to: Both
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: unpark the mount and slew to target
results: Cannot unpark mount when dome is locking

test #2:
mount and roof started as unparked (open) and telescope tracking a target
read: telescope is pocking out of the dome/roll-off
goal: close the roof/dome

2_1:
Dome parking policy set to: Ignore dome
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!

2_2:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome locks
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!

2_3: <--- this is not working as intended
Dome parking policy set to: Dome parks
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!
despite the "[INFO] Warning: Dome parking policy set to: Dome parks. This tells scope to park if dome is parking. This will disable the locking for dome parking, EVEN IF MOUNT PARKING FAILS"

2_4: <--- this is not working as intended
Dome parking policy set to: Both
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: your scope and mount are broken!!!
despite the [INFO] Warning: Dome parking policy set to: Both. This disallows the scope from unparking when dome is parked, and tells scope to park if dome is parking. This will disable the locking for dome parking, EVEN IF MOUNT PARKING FAILS.

2_5:
Dome parking policy set to: Ignore dome
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

2_6:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome locks
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

2_7:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome parks
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

2_8:
Dome parking policy set to: Both
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

test #3:
mount is parked, unpark and park the dome works regardless of any of the above possible conditions ( as 1-1 to 1-8 ).

test #4:
mount is unparked (but still in the physical park position as in counter weight horizontal), dome is unpark
WARNING: you must be 100% sure that the mount is in the physical park position as described.

4_1:
Dome parking policy set to: Ignore dome
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: Dome is parked

4_2:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome locks
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: Dome is parked

4_3:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome parks
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: Dome is parked

4_4:
Dome parking policy set to: Both
Telescope parking policy set to: Ignore Telescope
action: park the dome
results: Dome is parked

4_5:
Dome parking policy set to: Ignore dome
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

4_6:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome locks
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

4_7:
Dome parking policy set to: Dome parks
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

4_8:
Dome parking policy set to: Both
Telescope parking policy set to: Telescope locks
action: park the dome
results: Cannot close dome when mount is locking

Wow great job with the extensive test! We'll take a look at the broken cases. This should go to the official documentation IMO just as an FYI for the mount users. Can you trouble you to make it in a Google sheet somewhere?

I plan to convert to HTML later on to add it to the mount documentation in the website.. so anything to be HTML friendly in the future.
