EKOS change request

After using KStars and EKOS many times I came to the following conclusions:
1. Instead of Capture&Solve button and Sync, Slew to Target, Nothing switches I suggest using just three buttons in the top section, replacing existing Capture&Solve button with three buttons: Solve, Solve&Slew (or Solve&Goto), Solve&Sync. With this solution GOTO section is obsolete. No more jumping with your eyes among buttons and switches.Just click and go.
2. Set maximum slewing rate should be available for goto operations. Under heavy load some mounts starting with full speed sound really bad due to vibrations. Presetting maximum slewing speed would prevent this behaviour and ensure smooth and silent operations.

BTW. What are these annoying XML files in default fits directory? All of them are corrupted. I believe that they are written to disk at any preview (CCD or Alignement)
BTW2. Recent version of KStars (bleeding) crashes in any attempt to save image coming from focus or ccd preview.

1. Sounds like a good idea, will look into it.
2. Can't this be done in the INDI control panel?
3. I think those are created from the alignment operation; you can disable the BLOB upload from the alignment tab, but maybe it should be disabled? Geehalel have to weigh in.
4. Make sure kstars-bleeding-dbg is installed, and send me a backtrace.

Thanks for the hints. I will look into this after weekend.

Update:
I mean maximum slewing rate for goto operations. How can a user set a limit? Now maximum speed is used at first and precise slewing close to a target.

Jasem could you please comment on the maximum slewing rate for goto?

Did you check the mount tab? It has slew speeds to the right side if the mount support slew speeds.

Sure I did. However the rate applies to manual slew only. What I mean is the rate used by goto function (when you click on an object in KStars). At first the mount starts with maximum rate supported by mount and later slows down to precisely slew to a target. I believe that it would be very useful to have an ability to limit the maximum rate to a user defined value. This will surely ensure silent operation in case of many mounts which get this noisy vibrations when speeding up from zero to full speed. The ultimate objective of this feature being to let the gears rest a bit in case of heavy load up or beyond mount's limits.

Okay I get it, have to check which mounts support this to begin with.

Hello Jasem,

I live in an apartment building and the goto speed of my HEQ5 at full speed is pretty noisy, so I'm used to changing it to a silent speed so it's doesn't bother my neighbors during the night.

With EQMOD, changing the goto speed is easy, there's a slider for that:

However I couldn't find a way to change it with the INDI EQMOD driver, which keeps me under Windows/Ascom. :(
I searched on Google and found this topic. Is this change request still under review?

It is already implemented in INDI EQMod:

Thank you for your answer. I tried this setting, it works but only for manual slewing, not the "goto" automatic slewing (when you click on an object in KStars and select EQMOD>Slew to target). It's still always at max speed.

I mean the same thing than post #4871 above from Kaczorek.

I can report the same, only works for manual slew with my HEQ5. Goto is always at full speed. Have the same problem with neighbors would be very handy.

I originally thought that this goto speed was hard-coded in a firmware as I could not slow it down with the synscan pad neither. I reduced the HEQ5 noise by dismantling the mount and re-greasing it, and was even looking at belt mods to reduce it further, but if there is a software solution no doubt it would be welcomed.
