I guess you still want a log. :) I had the same problem as last time before you made a change to see if that would work.

Should be, or is that a manual setting, I saved configuration on it so it activated automatically. Didn't recheck if the timer was active, I thought that was handled automatically.

Yes, so does that mean a crashed kstars still responds on that port? As in, Kubuntu itself responds? If so, it would be nice if it would also park on a crash.

This morning I noticed the telescope didn't park and hit a leg of the mount. No issue, but it was caused by a crash of Kstars (I unfortunately had logs disabled tonight), INDI was still running fine on the Raspberry and the IP address to my computer inside was correct. I was under the impression that if KStars didn't respond it would issue a park command? Or is it only for a complete PC crash?

Tonight I'm in the process of my second mosaic (loving it clearly) ;) , but unfortunately ran into the "too many open files" issue with the offline solver again. Using the latest Kstars and INDI drivers. Might this be a problem in my astrometry installation?

APP is cheaper, but even PixInsight at 230 Euro's is cheap. I mean, sure it's quite a bit of money, but even the cheapest of serious telescopes costs that much and in the end, the processing part is where the magic really happens.

Like Jasem said, try to use Ethernet. Depends ofcourse on your situation, if Wifi or Bluetooth works, great, but I've seen so many weird issues using wifi at my house. Ethernet made everything so stable.

No, you only need a connection from the guide-cam to a computer, the software on the computer gets the image, decides to issue a correction and then sends that correction to the mount directly via the EQDir cable. ST4 can be ditched, 1 less cable to worry about. :) I've never touched the hand-controller since I started in astrophotography, 1 less thing that can fail in between. I would advicethe cable with FTDI chipset as drivers for that chipset are updated nicely for all Windows versions.

More expensive, but totally worth the cost; a Lodestar X2. Earlier version is also fine and besides it being amazingly sensitive in comparison, the drivers are behaving great as well. Not to be totally negative about QHY, many use those cameras and have no problem, but for me I noticed (even under Windows) that it was the last part of my setup that wasn't behaving like it should. And support is almost non-existent especially if you're using Linux, which I get to a certain extent, but that does mean I was gone as a costumer and will buy brands that have a better track record in that regard.

Quite frankly, I've had the exact same answer from QHY like a year ago and gave up. I switched to another manufacturer and couldn't be happier.
