Apologies if this has been answered before / solved before but I've just spent many hours trying to find the answer and I'm still non the wiser. I was under the belief that you could use the Pi HQ camera with astroberry for imaging but I'm having no luck at all. So far I've made sure the camera is enabled in config, tested the camera works from the terminal and I've added the missing xml file so that the camera appears in the device manager local drivers list. However I still can't get anything to work. If I go to Kstars and Ekos and set the RPI camera as local I just get Starting Indi Services and then nothing. If I try it as remote I just get Unable to remotely establish RPI camera.

Has anyone successfully used the PI HQ camera with Astroberry or can anyone point me to a guide to help set it up please?

INDI software support for HQ Camera is curently really bad. All we have is 32bit INDI_RPICAM driver www.indilib.org/raspberry-pi/raspberry-pi-camera.html, but unfortunately it has long exposure flaw github.com/indilib/indi-3rdparty/issues/271.

Last info that I have is that long ecposure works if you first take 10s exposure and then 15 sec one stargazerslounge.com/topic/399998-why-sh...-to-invent-your-own/.

So currently your only hope is 32bit Astroberry or 32 Stellarmate server. But be warned, there is long exposure bug in current INDI_RPICAM driver.

But there is hope for the future. HQ camera is supported by libcamera software stack www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/comput...html#getting-started and there is new INDI_LIBCAMERA_CCD driver in the works indilib.org/forum/ccds-dslrs/12177-indi-libcamera-driver.html.

As I can tell Libcamera support fot HQ camera is very good and hopefully guys at indilib will soon provide us with working INDI libcamera driver. I'm very optimistic about that, because libcamera is new standard and I think that it will become very important in the future.

While waiting for the new libcamera based driver, you can play with tis little tool:

Curently using HQ camera with KStars/Ekos is mission impossible. Your only hope is 32 bit OS version, if you can figure out how to enable long exposure times for your setup.
