Astroberry on USB

I have Astroberry successfully working on my RPi3B+ installed on a 16GB SD card.

Is it possible to load it onto a USB stick that is plugged into a powered USB hub and boot and run Astroberry on the RPi from that? and have no memory card installed.
If the answer is yes will it improve or downgrade the performance?

So it looks like it’s easy to do and use, but I will be very interested to know if it’s faster and better performance than using the SD card..
I will watch this thread with interest.. :)

Thanks for the quick reply, it seems it does work easily with Raspbian, as long as you make sure the no sd card installed patch is done to avoid excess CPU use and the subsequent heat increase.

I think Astroberry is based on Ubuntu so does that work as well?
