I’m using Astroberry on a RPi4 and a ASI294MC Pro cam connected via USB 3.0. When doing a full size video preview in Ekos capture module, I get a max. frame rate of approx. 3 fps. I this normal or is there room for improvement? When I played with the USB bandwidth setting (set from 40 to 70), I once managed to get 10 fps, but this was not reproducible. Now I’m back on 3 fps regardless of the bandwidth setting.
Firecapture (on the same RPi4) manages to get 10-12 fps max.
What are your fps’ using ASI USB 3.0 cams? Am I missing something, or am I doing something wrong?
I do get ~3.7fps (raw 16bit) streamed to my client computer with an ASI 294MC Pro connected to the server, bandwidth set to 40.
With the camera connected to my laptop directly, I do get ~6.8fps.
I have pretty much the same question but with the ASI 183MC Pro on USB 3.0. I see you list having a 183.
According to the spec for this camera it is capable of 19fps@5496x3672 to 308fps@320X240
So a few questions if I may:
1. Is the indicated fps only related to the preview and the actual capture is faster ?
2. Why I can only achieve up to around 6-8 fps when running at 5496x3672 instead of the advertised 19 ?
3. Is running the guide camera (QHY 5L) off the ASI 183 USB hub causing the issue, and it could be improved by wiring the two separately ?
4. How would I switch to the other video modes to achieve the higher frame rates ? I checked in Indilib settings for the camera but didn't see it.
