I just found out that my Canon EOS 70D, set to "M", only takes 30 secs of images, despite the setting in Ekos being more (like 90, 120, 300 secs). The same setting (M) is what I use with Backyard EOS, and that works nicely.
I am missing something in how to use my Canon 70D, or is there a problem with the gphoto driver?
Yes, well. Now it works. I've been testing and debugging during the day, and suddenly, when setting the camera on "B" as in bulb, it works. Previously this setting just produced a quick snapshot, regardless of the exposure time set. But now, suddenly, it simply works... I can take 300 secs exposures.
One thing I did, was to install gphoto2, inspired by another thread here. Although I never used it for anything. But maybe that made a difference?
Funny as that's been exactly my problem as well. Took me weeks, even going through library code etc, to figure out I had to put it on Bulb all of a sudden. So this proofs it's indeed driver related.
