RPI Camera and long exposures

I have always had this issue. I am using the HQ Raspberry Pi camera.

In the Indi Control Pane for the RPI Camera i enter 10seconds for exposure and the count down time gets to about 7seconds and it fast forwards to zero. So really it took about a 3 second exposure from my point of view.

I have to take another exposure of 10seconds and it counts down the exposure right.

Any ideas? Or is this bug that needs fixed?
Thanks!

This is a known bug. You have to take an initial throw away exposure, and then all subsequent exposures are correct.

Replied by Simon on topic RPI Camera and long exposures

Acording to github.com/indilib/indi-3rdparty/issues/271 and my testing the only way is to take first exposure exactly 7 seconds, and all exposures after that will be correct.
