Kstars/Ekos crashes with Nikon D3500 while downloading second photo.

I need some help. I have been running Astroberry on a Raspberry Pi 3B+ for two months. I have a Nikon D3500 camera. I have read numerous postings here an none have helped me. Every time that I try to capture a second photo to the raspberry pi, Kstars/Ekos crashes while downloading the second photo. I can capture the first photo fine, but never the second one. I have successfully done 120 photo sessions but only if I capture the photos to the camera SD card only, I have to use the "Ignore" button in the Indi Panel Image Properties window. Not being able to capture photos to the raspberry pi, prevents me from using a Bathinov mask. Because once I shoot the first photo, I cannot go refocus to take the second shot because Kstars/Ekos crashes. I have created four new images from scratch, even one without update/upgrade and all of them do exactly the same thing. What I do not understand is that I can plate solve even though plate solving may require 4 or 5 photos to converge, but I cannot take more than two photos. Any help is appreciated.

Turn off the FITS viewer and see if the issue is still there. KStars v3.58 had fixed this for me.

I am not quite sure what you mean, I set everything to Native.

Son of a gun, I finally figured out how to turn off the FITS viewer and WALA... I can take more than two photos and have them saved to the raspberry pi. Thank you so much. Now I can use my Bahtinov mask. I wish that the FITS viewer can be fixed.

That is good, although I had a similar issue and the latest update cleared this problem. Go to KStars about and check you have 3.5.8.

Update if you have 3.5.7 or lower.

Malcolm, you were right again. I went and looked and I was running Kstars 3.5.7. I have updated to 3.5.8. If I get clear skies, I will give it a run. Thanks again.

I am sorry to say that after upgrading to Kstars 3.5.8, I still cannot take more than a couple of photos with the Fits Viewer enabled. Kstars/Ekos crashes while downloading the image, just like when I first posted. Malcon has isolated this issue to the Fits viewer, since everything works fine as long as the Fits viewer is disabled. Any help on this issue is appreciated.

Can you try this with KStars 3.5.9 beta?

Jasem,
What relevant changes were made in KStars 3.5.9 beta?
Just yesterday I updated a system which I didn't update for a couple of months.
I am on a Stable channel and got updated to SM 1.7 (from 1.6.2) and KStars 3.5.9 beta (04/01/22).
Not sure why KStars 3.5.9 beta came through as I am on a Stable channel.

Depends on how you installed KStars. If Ubuntu, check here: indilib.org/get-indi/download-ubuntu.html

@Max: Hy made a change in FITS Viewer to possibly prevent a crash condition, so it might be helpful.
