Problem connecting to QHY-8 ccd

I am attempting to connect to my QHY-8 camera but when I go via the KStars Device Manager and try to start device, I get a message saying indi-qhy-ccd:Open QHYCCD error. When I try to connect via the EKOS Kstars set-up< I get the message Unable to estabidh +QHY CCD. The camera is visible in the VM Ekos Devices USB menu.

I am running Kstars under VM on Win7 64-bit laptop.

Any suggestions?

Your CCD is On? Attached to the VM? What's the VID:PID ?

lsusb, or you can see it when you select to attach it to the VM from the USB list.

You need to change permissions on the qhy device to get around this, typically this is done with a udev rule so permissions on the device get set for user access when it's detected by the hotplug systems.

Same question. What's the VID:PID of the QHY-8L ? run lsusb -l and you'll get a list of USB devices. One of them is your camera. We need the VID:PID

Hi,

Sorry for delayed reply.

I have had no acces to camera during this summer but will soon so i can check.
I happened to look into some of my old notes today and found VID:1618 PID 6004 for QHY8L.
Can't really be sure before i get to camera but maybe, just maybe this helps.

Darkness will be upon us here at 65N in a few weeks so will be back to imaging :woohoo:
