Hi HelgeMK,
I also own an ASI071MC (not-PRO) camera and am just running Kstars/Ekos with INDI where the Stellarmate is acting as the INDI server. I update the Stellarmate to the latest set of SW (using the sw updater) in order to make sure that the INDI drivers were the latest. I can see the camera shows up nicely in KStars with the ability to control the cooling temperature. However, the ASI071 has an anti-dew heater and I am not seeing a control for this on any of the tabs. I would have expected it to be on the "main control" tab along with the cooling control?

Thank you! That also answers another question I had about how to change the image format :)

My 071McPro stop downloading images. It loses connection sometimes as well. In the camera tab, when I hit preview I can see the countdown timer running to 0. When it gets to zero no images are downloaded and then the countdown restarts. This will go on indefinitely. Disconnect and reconnect do nothing to fix it. Unplugging and replugging the USB cable in does nothing. Restarting Kstars does nothing. Restarting the computer does nothing. I get the same result in 2.9.8, 3.0.0, 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 . This camera was mostly working without issue two weeks ago (last time I was able to image). I had seen similar behavior before when doing flats, but it was off and on. I have tried the USB traffic speeds from 90-40 and all in between. I have tried a bunch of different USB 3 cables of differing lengths. If I disconnect the camera and then use the ASICAP application from ZWO, everything seems to work again in that app.

I have a 1600mmPro that I will try today and see if that one works. Since it is the same driver, perhaps the 071 camera itself is having issues? I had to send it back to China once already for serious fogging and temp probe issues.

Happens the same way on my office computer which is an iMac running the 10.13.6 . This is tested in kstars 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 . The same behavior is happening with my 1600MMPro which has worked great until this.

So I tried this with my ASI071MC and don't appear to be seeing the same problem and I am running KStars 3.1.1. In my case the 071 is NOT the pro version, but its likely the drivers are the same? Additionally I did update my stellarmate about 3 days ago to the latest SW using virtual desktop etc and picking the software update option. Perhaps the issue doesn't sit on the PC/Mac side, but on the drivers/os running on stellarmate?

The most recent change to the ASI SDK happened on March 12th: github.com/indilib/indi/commits/master/3rdparty/indi-asi

Maybe it worth testing before that? The only issue is that it requires compiling as there are no binary packages available back then.

On a local NUC linux install experience the indefinite looping/countdown without an image being produced at times when taking flats. Suspected it was when using options and requesting a high ADU value but have not confirmed that.
Edit> It is a sometimes thing that goes back several months.

Yeah, in the past I have had this behavior when taking short flats as well. I usually had to restart the app and that fixed it. Now it is stuck in a constant loop with two different ASI cameras, on two different machines and 3 different versions of the Kstars. If I change the exposure times, it does the same loop issue and never downloads. It doesn't matter if it is 500secs or .6secs.

I just checked with my ASI1600MM-C Pro on KStars nightly and taking a preview does show a popup with the downloaded image in it.

EDIT This is on a 64 bit mini-pc running Ubuntu 18.04

Hey Jasem,
Does the KStars 3.1.1 utilize the ASI SDK changes from March 12?

SAY WHAT!? I had no idea. ODDLY - my recent tests were plagued by amp glow so bad I'd never witnessed it before. (I was on 3.0 port on a nuc) now on 2.0 port of a PI. REALLY that is the cause?

I tried to follow the link (but its broken) so what is the solution of extra ddr?

I use to see no amp glow with a old 1600 mm I now have a 1600mm pro and see it horribly but also using 2.0.

If I can't fix that - I'll have to go to linux on the nuc and shelve the PI. = (
