Hi All,

Im here as instructed by Ekos to report camera issues for 2 cameras.

!st is the iOptron iGuider built in to the CEM70G -
manufacturers pixel setting of 3.75um at 1280 x 960 resolution -
ekos currently defaults to 5.6um at 640 x 960 -
causes guiding to hang, then timeouts,
however will work when manually set at 3.75um with 640 x 960 resolution, 1st capture takes approx 20-30sec, every subsequent capture after is approx 5sec

2nd is the Celestron (TIS) Skyris 132c -
manufacturers pixel setting of 3.75um at 1280 x 960 resolution -
ekos currently defaults to 5.6um at 1280 x 960 -
causes camera to hang, then driver (V4L2) to shut down -
have to disconnect, hang up, dial back in and reconnect for driver to come back online

I can manually change these settings but will not be saved so Ekos defaults to incorrect settings when shutdown and re-booted again

Hope you can help, thanks in advance, Richard

Thanks, both of these are already in INDI and both at 3.75u. What version of INDI are you using?

Hi Jasem, I will check when I get home, you’ve got me thinking I’m not up to date on the INDI.
Will confirm later....

Ok, 2 strangest things have occurred.
Firstly
When I open
KStars 3.5.2 on MacOS
I get
error - unable to find INDI Drivers for directory
:/usr/local/share/Indi
Please make sure to set correct path in KStars configuration.

Why has that happened? And how do I configure it?
I use Remote hosting on Stellarmate Plus. I click ok and it goes into KStars allowing me to open Ekos and connect to all devices.

Secondly
I also use the Stellarmate Plus on MacOS, when I click on the Stellarmate noVNC icon, it now says
noVNC has encountered an error:
null is not an object (evaluating’document.getElementById(“noVNC_mouse_button0”).addEventListener’)
There is also a finer print too.

I haven’t done anything different so not sure what’s happened.

Hey all!
I'm having the same issue with a number of IMX290 boards.

Reported Name: 'USB 2.0 Camera: USB Camera', Common Name: USB 2.0 IMX290 Board, Pixel Size: 2.9

Thanks in advance!

There is issue with Raspberry Pi HQ camera, while pixel size is correct, for some reason default resolution is 1024x768, and biggest issue is that there is no option to set Gain, and in V4L2 options ISO settings is gibberish.

Also Pi HQ camera can handle exposures up to 230s so there is no need for stacking, but that is less important. Gain is biggest issue. Can that be fixed?

I can provide anything needed even remote connection to PI with HQ camera.

I have just obtained OpenAstroGuider and would like to have the pixel size corrected.

Reported Name: Video Capture 5, Common Name: OpenAstroGuider IMX290, Pixel Size: 2.90

Thanks a lot.

Can you please run this command?

v4l2-ctl --all > log.txt

then attach the log.txt file.

Sure :-)

Thanks,
W

P.S. I have to initialise it with Indi-webcam driver - otherwise it hangs when you try to capture a frame.
Then you change the driver to v4l2 back and it works fine...

I have an OV9281 USB camera board that works well with V4L2 driver. It had 3.0um pixels, but defaults to 5.6.Per instruction here is the common name and attached V4L2 log.txt
For future autodetection of pixel size, please report the following: Reported Name: USB Camera: USB Camera, Common Name (Eg: NexImage 10)
Thank You.

Edit: I added it myself on my local build.
    { "USB Camera: USB Camera", "OmniVision OV9281", 3.0f, -1, true },
