I experienced the same problem the other day, fortunately I saw it after 10 frames before I let the rig run by itself overnight. I tried switching back to 16 bit, but couldn't. Restarting Kstars did not help either.
I finally compiled the drivers fresh from the source. Then everything worked fine again. So far.
I did not open a topic, because it seemed like a fluke with not much to go on. But reading this, I now think there must be a more systematic problem.

PS: BTW, that was on a Pi4/8GB running Ubuntu 20.04, not Stellarmate.

Hi
i think this is the piece of code related to this behavior
But IMHO it also bumps out ASI120MM-S (usb3 version)
...I don't think we want that ...
@knro : could you explain what you call "older asi120 camera" ?
I've never heard people complaining about usb3 version, but i might be wrong
(i've lost my last session because of this )

Hi, just to say the issues of switching to 8bit seems to have disappeared when running KStars 3.5.4 and Indi V 1.9.1. Maybe there is an updated ZWO driver out there too - but I don't know how to check that.
5 days owner of 120MM mini, first 3 days worked like a charm on 16 bit, yesterday and today continously switching to 8 bit and disrupting the guide when it randomly happens. No clues at all and why and on fixes... Any help more than welcome!!
