Hello,

I have been using a Canon 7D Mark II successfully for image capture via USB. Today I tried to connect an EOS R, also via USB.

INDI recognized the camera and can display/record live view, but I cannot get it to capture a photo.
2020-09-20T00:37:43: [ERROR] Failed to expose.
2020-09-20T00:37:31: [INFO] Starting 1 seconds exposure (+1 seconds mirror lock).
Some debugging information below.

Has anyone gotten this working, and if so, any ideas what I need to do?

Thanks,
John

I figured out the problem. I had to enable "Release shutter w/o lens" in C.Fn5.

Hi John, have you been able to capture anything yet?

I have the Canon RP. I'm running KStars with Raspbian Buster on an RPi4 a my stable setup. I have no issues with my 550D, but when i try to use my RP it wont download the image.

I have set my shutter release w/o lens as i use my RP on a tracker with manual lenses and it works fine.

I think the issue with KStars with Raspbian Buster on an RPi4 is libraw2.0 has not been implemented yet. I am assuming that because Canon uses CR3 RAW format on its mirrorless cameras, there is still no way to convert a CR3 RAW to a FITS in Raspbian so KStars can do its thing.

When i use my RP on my Asus Tinkerboard (which runs Lbuntu 18.04LTS) the RP works fine.

regards Petar

Thank you for letting us know how you resolved it. I will add this to the documentation as well in case other users run into this issue.

Yes, I had success Sunday night. I'm running Raspbian Buster on an RPi4b. My Stellarmate installation includes libraw-dev 0.20.0 and gphoto2 2.5.20-3. I had Ekos store the native .cr3 files during capture, but it did decode them for autofocus.
