dSLR-derived GPS data?

Sorry if this was addressed already, but I can't seem to find the answer.
I recently picked up a Nikon D5300 for pennies (lil' crack on the casing, works 100%, rapidly de-filtered).
D5300 has internal GPS, providing both location data, elevation and accurate local time. Is there any way EKOS/INDI can poll this information and use it for GPS/time data directly, thereafter updating the mount? Else I'll try to write a routine that queries the setting from the dSLR upon connecting the USB cable and update the data in the RPi setting, and from there use the virtual GPS settings, but that's more trouble for no good reason as EKOS should already query the dSLR settings and informations upon starting.
