Kstars v. 3.5.5 will not download and save additional data catalogues

I am running Kstars/Ekos on a Raspberry Pi 4 / Astroberry (latest) and had to do a new install for other reasons so re-flashed my SSD and updated, so a virgin install  - with Kstars 3.5.5, I am unable to save any additional catalogues except for a very limited list, no issues with connectivity (patch cabled)  and fibre internet at 200mb download so they should come down fast (as did the plate solving index files!). Sometime the window freezes up too and memory consumption jumps up to over 50% with cpu at 38% constant- do we have a memory leak here? Only way out is to force close Kstars
No issues before with 3.5.4 and I am quite experienced with RPi's and KStars/Ekos. Is this a new version bug?
Anyone else had this?

DSO catalogs changed in version 3.5.5. I have downloaded all catalogs without any issues.
Check KStars menu Data / Manage DSO Catalogs for catalogs available on your system.

I'm running the latest GIT version of KStars and all/most catalogs are listed as uninstalled despite the fact that they ARE installed and the corresponding files are sitting on my hard drive.

When I click "Install", the files are downloaded and installed (again). When I then close KStars and start again, they are marked as uninstalled which clearly is a bug.

This particular problem is being worked on. JPL changed their API.

edit: quoting is not working for me, the problem being worked on is the comet and asteroid database

Quoting doesn't work for anybody and that's the case for months now.

Alfred,

I have seen that problem after doing a new complete build to test Raspberry Pi OS 64 bit.

It appears to download the catalog files but when you go back into the menu it shows them as not downloaded.

Alfred,

If you are building from source the add only modules problem appears to have been resolved.

The other catalogues still fail to find a web site or path.

Alfred,

I spoke too soon - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Paul, I agree. However many times I try to update them it seems to reset itself to a default list per the picture attached so clearly something not working correctly. I wonder if its permission based?

After starting KStars I get this:

So it's not permissions related IMO.
