Tonight I downloaded the lates stable release of the Mac OSX version from the main Kstars website and can confirm this bug still exists.

Same problem for me.
My mount is not very precise and I have around 10% waste.
I just installed Kstars 3.6.0 and still the same problem:
Unable to resume shooting if the drift is too great. The sequence is purely and simply cancelled.
I switched to CCDciel which has the option to resume shooting if the drift is too great. Its only flaw is the somewhat slow planetarium on low-powered machines.

Version 3.6.2 still doesn't have the option to resume a missed shot :-(

Are you using the scheduler?

Yes i uses the scheduler.
If the deviation is too great, the shooting should be restarted but not the sequence should be cancelled.
The causes can be inaccurate tracking, the wind...
For instance:
During shooting the deviation exceeds the maximum value -> Restart shooting.
If, for example, 5 successive shots are not good (too large a deviation) -> Cancellation of the sequence or Stop of the session.
