Hello guys , i fight since several weeks with my new Ioptron GEM 45 G .
Else with the new stellarmate os 1.7.1 , not all devices running .
Ioptron iguider is without any function and since 1.7.1 ASI EAF Focuser is not visible for indy . It's very frustrating .
Is there out on the earth anyone how work with ioptron GEM 45 G and stellarmate os ?
I would be very happy if anyone ( Wouter ? ) , can help ?

My setup
TS 76/342 EPDH - ASI 1600 MC cool , Ioptron GEM 45 G - with
ipolar and iguider internal as part of the mount , powered USB 3 HUB ,
Rasperry Pi 4 B 8 GB, ASI EAF Focuser, GPS Dongle .

I hope of a lot new ideas !
Best regards
Rainer

iGuider never worked before. Regarding EAF, just tested and works fine on SM OS v1.7.1

I bought a CEM40G just a couple weeks ago.

Initially, I tried it with Stellarmate 64bit. That worked for a while but then all of a sudden some usb devices stooped to be recognized.
I didn't investigate long enough and switched to 32bit.
All works well under 32bit Stellarmate.

Updated to SM 1.7.1 a couple of days ago - all works well (mount, 2 ZWO cameras, EAF)
iGuider gets recognized and connects but cannot be used (bad driver).

Jasem: is there a plan to fix the iGuider situation eventually?

Thanks!

There are no plans from our side regarding iGuider. You may need to contact iOptron regarding that.

Hello max thanks for your answer , i will try the 32 bit version and instead of iguiderdriver i will try the
the webcamdriver , see device section ccd cams here in indilib.org , you can find a very good documentation there , i hope than the guider works , best wishes Rainer !

Hi Jasem,
That's really unfortunate that there are no plans for supporting the iGuider : (

Rainer,
I tried both iguider and webcam drivers without much success and gave up.
Using separate camera/scope for guiding.

Hello Max , did you play with the driver options
such as in devices/ccd/webcams described ? I cannot understand, why a simple webcamdriver is not possible to build for a simple webcam in 2022 !!!! in a mountpackage GEM 45 G for more than 3000 € . Developer said Ioptron must help , ioptron said thirdparty developers must react ?
Many of us use recently
the possibility to control the Equipment via Rasperry Pi . I think ioptron didn't know that ? With Windows 10 pro and ascom driver Ipolar and iguider worked both fine . With rasperry Pi only ipolar work properly. My second way is a second !!!!!! guiding scope with a additional second guiding cam , with not so much sense . That speaks not for the manufacturer !
Best wishes Rainer

I tried one more time today with INDI Webcam driver.
It actually worked (sort of).
I was able to take pictures and loop them under the Guide tab.
I had Rapid Stacking set to Average.
HOWEVER. The images were blank/black. Zero signal. No noise or anything.
They were also vertical not landscape.
I tried to tune settings but the camera started to hang often requiring the system reboot.
So I gave up again... : (

Yes, sad, but it seems the only choice is to spread the word to stay away from iOptrons G models.
And tell iOptron that you spread the word. Maybe then they wake up.

I think I will just remove it and pretend I have a regular CEM40.
