I recently acquired a refractor of 714mm focal length and have entered it into my profile. I have all the internal resolver index files stored on my astroberry device. With this focal length, I note that the FOV calculations show 0.0, that the planarium no longer shows a FOV solution and that none of the index files are showing as 'Required".
The actual FOV is 1.79x1.19 degrees according to astrometry, net.
This problem is causing solving to fail and the alignment logs indicate that a proper index file can't be found.
Any idea what I can do to correct the math used by the alignment module?
Try to go to Capture tab, next to camera name is trash icon, click it to delete camera configuration and then fill it again after it pops up. Does this fix the FOV issue?
Aha!! That did change the result! I had failed to understand this about the driver for the CCD. I was aware that the driver for the mount built a model that it stores and I had cleared that model. Is it correct to assume that the CCD drivers have a similar characteristic?
Thanks! I'll be testing the results of this in my next session!
just a slight side question. Those frame settings are they your cameras real resolution? I ask as my sony in aps-c mode seems to have similar settings and they aren’t the ones I set and from a quick google of your camera it looks like they aren’t correct for the 60d
No problem with side questions! Yes, 4.29 pixel size and 5196 x 3464 sensor resolution are correct for Canon 60D according to www.digicamdb.com/specs/canon_eos-60d/
Is it possible that the Canon 60D and your particular Sony model are using the same sensor?
