phd2 told to clear calibration after meridian flip

Hi everyone
After a flip and realignment, phd2 does not restart. Hitting guide manually causes a recalibration which while is needed for the internal guider, is not necessary or desirable for phd2.
The workaround is to stop and restart phd2 manually and restart it from within rather than from ekos.
Anyone else finding this?
Cheers and clear skies,
Steve

I think Robert could look into this, but he'd probably need logs.

After a meridian flip, something (kstars?) is telling phd2 to clear its calibration:

Any ideas? This maybe a hangover from the internal guider?
TIA,
Steve

No need to create a separate topic for this so I moved it here.

Ekos is supposed to clear calibration after a meridian flip so that PHD2 would re-calibrate on the next guide command. So as far as Ekos in concerned here, this is the correct behavior.

Hi. Ah, OK.
The problem is that PHD2 then loses its original calibration data which was performed at DEC zero, near the equator; it does not need to be re-calibrated after a flip, indeed, if it is, it loses its ability to compensate correctly for declination.
Once a PHD2 calibration is done, it is rare to have to redo it.
Would it be possible to change the flip behaviour for PHD2 guiding?
TIA,
Steve

Okay, I didn't know that, we can add an exception for PHD2. But PHD2 needs NO information after a meridian flip? Just guide directly?

Yep. Stop guiding for the flip and simply start it again after solving on the other side. That's it:)

There is an option "Reset Guide Calibration". Simple check it off.

EDIT:[
strike]Unfortunately, only applies to the internal guider:([/strike]
MY BAD. YES does work. Thanks

PHD2 can be stopped and started on the fly without calibrating either from within ekos or standalone. It is only instructed to re calibrate after the flip.
TIA

Hi Jasem, sorry to drag up an old topic. Can you please tell me where to find the option to switch off Reset Guide Calibration? Also using PHD2 and I calibrate at the celestial equator. Using Kstars 3.3.4.

Thanks
