I already sent him an email where I noticed the ln - s process.
He replied me good news.
But nothing else because it's, for him, an old driver.

Thanks for that! I understand that it is an old driver for him, but it is not for me ;) I'd appreciate support for it and packages supporting newer versions of Linux and macOS.

No need to apologize Rob. I hadn’t used the Shoestring motor focuser for a long time but mounted it on my new telescope today and gave it a try. I couldn’t get the Mac version to work but I was impatient so that’s probably why. The deb amd64 version still works as I fund out tonight so for now I am a happy camper :)

Just replying to this thread so it doesn't get forgotten. While I am at it, is there any news on this?

Hi Wouter,

Yes Peter did respond. He said that since Cloudmakers is moving on from INDI to INDIGO, they are leaving behind drivers they made for INDI and focusing on INDIGO stuff. So he doesn't want us to use his INDI drivers since he doesn't plan to keep supporting them. He already took the drivers off his website and the INDIServer for OS X app. As for an INDI Driver for FCUSB, that doesn't mean we won't have one, just not Peter's driver.

Thanks,

Rob

It wasn't mean or anything, from his perspective it does make sense because they can't keep supporting a driver that they have decided to move away from.

Thanks for the info Rob. What a pity that they are dropping support.

Would it help if I volunteered to maintain the driver for INDI/Ekos? As far as I can tell it would simply mean to make sure that the build process keeps up to date with the latest versions of Linux/Mac libraries and I think I should be able to do that.
