Hi all,
I use an i3 laptop with a 128gb SSD drive, and run Linux Ubuntu in a 20gb partion as a dual boot with win 10.
Now I want to run Astrometry locally on this machine in Linux, but have not got enough space, so I Ha e a 128gb USB 3 drive plugged into this laptop for extra storage and want to install the index files on there, so how and how can I tell Ekos where to look for them instead of the default directory...
Thanks in advance
Hmmm
The index files were in /usr/share/Astrometry and that is what was in Ekos.
I want them in a folder on my USB drive, (where I have them all ready) so used the path to that and put that in the astrometry.cfg file as suggested above...
I know I'm resurrecting this after 3 years!
But I'm in the same situation here. I want to store the index files in my 64Gb USB drive.
So how was this sorted out? Could you please share the solution or the advice from Jaseem?
Thank you
From what I remember you have to install the files on the USB drive, and then change the location to them in Kstars, I think it’s in the Kstars settings or on the ekos align tab, and then index files….I no longer use indi so hope this helps….but it was pretty easy..
Yes, with all the improvements that I made last year to Plate Solving, you no longer have to do any editing of any files outside of KStars, just simply select where they are in the Ekos Align tab options
