I just had to abort an imaging sequence because the guiding went crazy. The last three files that were captured in the running sequence were bad , so I deleted them. The sequence had been for 140 images, I aborted after 63, and deleted 61-63.
Then I deleted the sequence, created a new one of 80 and started it.
EKOS was not increasing the image counter (both in camera tab and the status tab). Exposure time counted down, the images were even saved - but neither displayed (both the status page and the fits viewer still displayed the last - bad - image of the previous sequence) nor counted. Starting with image 63 the counting started again - at 1.
Not a big deal, though quite irritating.

Thanks for reporting! This seems an extension of the D-Bus communication issue that arose after the rework.
