Thank you for the report. I believe I just fixed the issue. When the next nightly of KStars is built (For Nov 20th), please try to download that and test: binary-factory.kde.org/job/KStars_Nightly_win64/

Hi Jasem, Thanks for looking at this. I tried the new nightly build (211) and I'm no longer getting the 'no binaries' message but the instant I press the Align icon Kstars crashes. The log only has entries prior to the crash so not sure how much help it will be but I can provide the full log it if will help. I've provided some of the log that looks to me to be significant below. This line from the log looks strange as the Astometry driver is in the profile along with CCD and Telescope Simulators only (3 drivers) - 'Cannot set solver to remote. The Ekos equipment profile must include the astrometry Auxiliary driver.'

Cheers.

Hi Jasem, Just an update on this crash. My PC I run Kstars on and is now crashing when selecting the Align tab is running W8.1. I have just tried installing Kstars (#211) on another W8.1 PC and a W10 PC, both have never run Kstars before. Both these new PC's crash at the same point. Strange thing is the first time after install it doesn't crash and remote solving worked but the 2nd and subsequent runs of Kstars now all 3 PC's crash when selecting the Align tab.

Another update. I have found that if I delete the file 'kstarsrc' and run Kstars if goes through the initial setup of kstars again and I can use the align tab again once only, 2nd and further attempts crash kstars. In these first attempts I have verified that Astrometry.net solving works, both online and remote using CCD and Telescope Simulators.

Are you using KStars and aligning on your RPi4?

Mine is doing the same, running on the first go... failing and requesting that it be run again. But when run, it crashes KStars.

Just to confirm I am seeing the same symptoms. After struggling for some time to configure remote astrometry.net solving I googled the error message text and found this thread. I am running KStars on Windows 10 with my remote indi server being a Raspberry Pi 4 using the astroberry 2.0.0 distribution.
With KStars 3.3.8 I get the error on connecting to the remote INDI server that the astrometry.net binaraies cannot be found.
I downloaded the latest nightly to test (build 220) but this crashes as soon as I start EKOS, or sometimes when I first click on the align tool tab.
I also tried build 218 and see the same crash.

Now reverted to KStars 3.3.6 and it appears to connect OK now, but the solver always fails. I tried to turn on debug via the INDI control panel, but it immediately turns itself off again. Not sure where to go from here.

On this thread I started last week: www.indilib.org/forum/general/6057-nothi...alignment-1-4-5.html

Jasem says "This is related to KStars v3.3.8 more or less. Will push an update soon."

Having reverted to KStars 3.3.6 on Windows I can now run the polar alignment tool successfully for the first time. It was crashing the whole application on attempting to solve the error after taking the 3rd image on KStars 3.3.8 on Windows 10, and also on KStars 3.3.7 running on the Raspberry Pi 4.
I have managed to work around my solver issues by installing ansvr on Windows now and pointing the online solver at localhost:8080 where I am running this service. So at least I can now do quick offline solves on the Windows laptop now.

Is there any way to downgrade Kstars 3.3.8 to 3.3.6 with Ubuntu 18. ? Astrometry doesn’t work anymore.
