INDI Library v2.0.6 is Released (02 Feb 2024)

Bi-monthly release with minor bug fixes and improvements

dslr: wrong sensor dimensions

Found it...
All the permissions on .indi and .local/share/kstars are OK, so I took a big hammer:
sudo chmod -R 0755 ~/Projects/ *
Then:
~/Projects/build/kstars/kstars/kstars
works as a normal user and the sensor dimensions stick. We survive both a restart and a change of profile: same dslr dimensions.
Questions:
Is something in the build folder is missing a permission perhaps?
Have I introduced a security hole if I VNC into it over Internet by using these permissions?

** To get the crash, move one of the sliders at the bottom of the fitsviewer window.

Thanks everyone for your patience,
Clear skies,
Steve

Here is the crash with the new (working) permissions:

File permissions have no effect on internet connections. If somebody wanted to connect to your remote machine then they would have to hack into the VNC connection, which should be very difficult (or practically impossible) if you use an encrypted connection.

Hi everyone
I spoke too soon. The frame values are being reset to 0 0 0 0
@Jasem could you TeamViewer in and take a look for me?
TIA,
Steve

EDIT:
This is the indi startup output from stable version. It loads the device configuration first. Works every time:)

2020-01-19T14:20:22: [INFO] Loading device configuration...
2020-01-19T14:20:22: [INFO] Detected Canon Inc. Model Canon EOS 700D.
2020-01-19T14:20:22: [INFO] Canon DSLR EOS 700D is online.
2020-01-19T14:20:22: [INFO] Debug is enabled.

Here is the indi startup output from the git. It saves the device configuration before it has loaded it:

2020-01-19T14:22:12: [INFO] Device configuration saved.
2020-01-19T14:22:12: [INFO] Saving device configuration...
2020-01-19T14:22:12: [INFO] Detected Canon Inc. Model Canon EOS 700D.
2020-01-19T14:22:12: [INFO] Canon DSLR EOS 700D is online.
2020-01-19T14:22:12: [INFO] Debug is enabled.

Surely, this is wrong and why the configuration is set to 0 0 0 0 each time? It saves the configuration before it knows what it is?
Cheers,
Steve

Anyone?
I'm not too bothered about the crash. It's the sensor dimensions which have me confused.
Why should they work with the stable version but not with the git source?
The only difference between the two versions is described here:
www.indilib.org/forum/ekos/6304-dslr-wro....html?start=12#48183

The git version saves the configuration BEFORE it has loaded it.

Cheers
Steve

Ok your description led me to disable one area which I saved config for during setting of active devices. I just disabled this in GIT. Can you compile and see if this fixes your issue?

Ok. Yes. That seems to have fixed it. The indi messages from the git are now exactly the same as from the stable; the configuration is loaded first, not saved.
We now survive a restart and a change of profile any number of times:)
Cloudy so can't test under the stars but looks promising.
Thanks,
Steve

**EDIT: Tested under the stars over 3 hours each with both eos450d and eos700d. Fine.
