Hummm with 3.4.0 the arrow keys always turn around the pole! I don’t remember to be so “pole bound” on 3.3.X. Are there any way to scape from pole? I’ve tried to change to altaz guides but it remains bound to the North Pole.
I am running on 10.15.3 Catalina as well and do not experience that issue with KStars 3.4.0. Have you tried pressing for instance the W button to go to West?
Hi Jasem, Congrats on the 3.4 release. I thought this upcoming release might coincide with a fix for Pi4 hotspot / USB issues which was stated previously as only a few days out. Any update on when that release will occur? Some of us either need that release or will need to find alternatives. The issue continues to be a show stopper for Pi4-4GB. Would it be best in your opinion to revert to Pi3? Any advice is appreciated...
p.s. You might want to correct the blog SExtractor reference (spelling). Otherwise it's a bit confusing for those of us familiar with SExtractor already.
Last edit: 4 years 1 month ago by Doug S. Reason: minor addition to note SExtractor mis-spelling in blog (now creeping into posts too).
When I press W or E I go to the West or East cardinal point but with the pole at the top and a n angled horizon. If I press the arrow keys they always move on AR or DEC.
For me, with the Stellarmate OS 1.5, IL don't see the Sextractor option for plate solving in the astrometry.net configuration tab, with either the released OS or switching to the bleeding edge, although it reports kstars 3.4.0 Build: 2020-02-08T18:45:26Z
Thanks, I suspected as much, having looked at the commit history. The release notes for 3.4 (knro.blogspot.com) said it was included, so I was a little confused, hoping it extended to the new stellarmate 1.5. I'll be more patient...
