How to frame correctly (with "nothing" in the center)?

Hello,
Have been using KStars/Ekos for two years but don't know how to do this right.
So, I have two objects in FOV and I want the center of the frame to be exactly in between those objects.
Usually there's some object (a large star or some small NGC, say NGC 1234) which is close but not exactly there.
I slew to it, plate-solve to center.
To get the frame center exactly where I want it, I right click where I want (there's "nothing" for KStars there) and select Mount/GoTo - and it goes.
This works well. Unless...
-- there's a meridian flip or
-- I want to continue next night and do "Load & Slew"
The mount goes to NGC 1234, not where the frame was centered. I understand why this is happening but is there a way to do this right?

Thanks!

Is this for use for the scheduler? If yes, then you can specifically a FITS image captured at that exact location and select it there.

No, I was talking about regular acquisitions. Didn't try it with the scheduler.

In fact, I used the scheduler for the first time over the last two nights to build a four-panel mosaic of Veil. That worked beautifully.

Maybe the scheduler is the answer.
I'll try the scheduler with a regular job (not mosaic) to see how it handles the frame repositioning.

Thanks!

Below is what I've got with the Veil. Four panel mosaic. One hour each panel. L-eNhance filter. Bortle 9.

Same here when I was trying the Leo Triplet or Bode's with the Cigar galaxies. There was a nebula (maybe the Rosette) in order to center it in the camera frame I had to use some open space, which of course is "Nothing".

I tried using the coordinates and I think that's the trick, but using them is clumsy.

You can also set a flag in KStars at the coordinates where you want to expose, and slew there consistently. Scheduler will however be a more precise method, as it will keep both coordinates and sequence file. You can build a library of targets like this.

I'll have to look for it again. I seem to remember not seeing something like that and giving up.

Edit:
Right-Click and select "Add Flag..." Doh! Why didn't I see that before. Thanks Eric!!!

The Menu "Tools/Flags" gets you to the window which lets you go to that location.

A word of caution here:
The 'Add Flag' option suffers from the same error as the normal KStars display (reported here and in bugtracker):
It doesn't goto / place the flag where you click if there is no object at that location, but to a place close by:

I had clicked the 'Add Flag' at the center location. The offset is the difference between JNow and J2000 coordinates.....

From what I see in the webchat, someone is trying to fix that issue.
