Using TWO RasPis

Using TWO RasPis was created by Joaquin

I would like to set a system with two raspberries:
One RasPi NEAR the mount, INDI-serving GPS, a surveillance camera, and the mount.
A second RasPi ON the scope, INDI-serving camera, guide, focuser... and running KSTARS/EKOS
I would connect to this second RasPi from my PC by VNC

I have carefully read the tutorial by Jasem (2016) about INDI on multiple devices. However this tutorial addresses a system with two Raspberries INDI-serving and a third device running EKOS.

In the same line, when configuring EKOS, in the EKOS profile wizard, I have to select between:
- Equipment is attached to this device
- Equipment is attached to a remote device

There is no Equipment is attached to this device AND to a remote device.

I don't know if the system I want to build is feasible.
Perhaps a colleague has implemented it and would appreciate your help. If not, maybe someone can give me a hint where to look.

That tutorial is out of date. Assuming you're using INDI/Ekos from GIT, this is pretty easy to do.

Create a new profile. Set it to LOCAL. Select the camera, guide, focuser. In the REMOTE DRIVERs section, put @IP (e.g. @192.168.100.1) whereas this is the IP address of the RPI-FAR. This assumes of course that the drivers are already running on RPI-FAR. And that's pretty much it.

Thanks for this info Jasem.

Would this also work if you had two Pi’s for a dual imaging rig which each one is running camera/focuser and one is running the guide cam and mount?
