Sesto senso 2 can't set backlash, parameter not found?

Can someone point me towards a solution with this? My sesto senso 2 focuser connects fine, calibrated fine, but i cannot focus out or focus in from the focuser tab. The Indi control panel has the error message stating that backlash couldn't be set because bklash parameter isn't defined. The control panel has backlash with a red dot instead of green, and cannot be enabled.

Any ideas? Trying to get my scope first light at a dark site.
Warning: Spoiler!
What other info would be helpful?

I seem to remember John Evans adding a backlash parameter to the focuser tab. Perhaps try setting that?

Thanks for the quick reply Hy.

I tried to change the driver backlash in that tab but it kept resetting to 0 and the Indi log days Backlash needs to be enabled first. But that brings me back to the original error about no bklash parameter found.

Thanks
Dalton

What version of firmware do you have in your Senso?

The Backlash field on the Indi tab and the Focus->Mechanics tab are the same datafield (just displayed in 2 different places). In the Focus->Mechanics tab this field will be uneditable if the focus driver does not support the backlash property which seems to be the issue you have.

Looking at the driver code, esatto.cpp DOES appear to support the backlash property so maybe you are using a different driver or an earlier version?

An alternative might be to use AF Overscan on the Focus->Mechanics tab. Here backlash compensation is applied at the Linear 1 Pass and Linear focus algorithm levels and does not require the driver to support backlash. Note that the other algorithms and in/out focus movements do not currently support AF overscan (although this will change in future).

Looks like v1.3 for Sesto Senso 2. I'll run an update and see if that helps.
