I'm hoping this will be an easy one to solve and I'm missing something obvious. I've used this filter wheel before on a previous Raspberry Pi4/Stellarmate setup, but that stopped working and I haven't yet used the filter wheel with this new RPi. I can't seem to get the ZWO Filter Wheel to connect in EKOS or even show up when plugged in using lsusb. I have tried connecting directly to the RPi USB ports and to the ASI2600mm USB ports while powered by 12V, and it does not connect. The ASI260mm and the ASI290mm come up fine every time though.

I checked on my Windows PC with ASI Studios and it came up, so am I perhaps missing a driver on my RPi?
Any other info needed to help solve this?

if it does not show on lsusb, try to add this to /etc/rc.local and reboot

chmod +rx /sys/bus/usb/devices/usb*

I did that and now ZWO EFW does show up on lsusb, however it still is not being found by Indi upon starting up.

Any thoughts on what I should do next to troubleshoot? I can try to send logs if that helps, but it doesn't ever get past the point where it says "....make sure the device is connected"

Just checking in on this thread, seeing if anyone knows any next troubleshooting steps.

I have tried connecting the ZWO EFW directly to the RPi and through the ASI2600mm USB ports, and both times it will show the EFW as connected via lsusb. Also tried running the driver but it said it was already started.

However when it is plugged into the RPi USB in the Indi start up status window the EFW says fails to connect and to check that it is powered on, it does not give that message when connected through the ASI2600mm USB ports, it doesn't say anything about the EFW when connected that way.

Ok quick update. I noticed there was an option for ASI EFW in the profile manager so I chose that (I've previously been using ZWO EFW). When using ASI EFW driver for the FW the EFW connects in EKOS just fine. I'm able to calibrate it, set the filters in positions, and can control the filter position from the Indi control panel, but in the CCD menu and focuser menu the filter option is grayed out and the filter cannot be changed. Any ideas?

Hi Dalton,If the filter option is greyed out then that means it isn't connected from Focus or Capture. I suspect that while you have it in the profile it may not be in the Optical Train. Here I removed the Filter Sim from the optical train and you can see the filter option greyed out... Then I added it back in the OT...

The pencil (circled) to the right of the Optical Train (called Primary here) launches the OT dialog box.

Oh perfect! You are a lifesaver! That was exactly the issue. I added the ASI EFW to the optical train and it's fully working now
