Focuslynx/Focus Boss not connecting to MacOS via USB

Hello,
I have a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (and only USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports), which I'm truing to connect to a Focus Boss II from Starlight Instruments.
The MBP runs Mac OS 10.14.2.
The box, as everyone knows, is actually made by Optec, SI only make the FT focuser (and maybe the motors).
I'm unable to have the Focuslynx connect to the Mac via USB, and only limited success via Ethernet. Limited success means the numbers don't make any sense: wrong position readouts, wacky temperatures, and the like.
I have only tested it as a separate unit, and have no idea about where to pull the logs from, therefore I apologise in advance.
If someone gives me detailed instructions, I can try to find the logs, or will reconnect the focuslynx to have it not working.
But I'll be able to share the logs.

Happy 2019 everyone

Cheers

Also, please update the focuser to the latest firmware. It fixes several issues.

Hello Jasem,
I had already updated the firmware before beginning this thread, to no avail.
I'll attach the log from the last session of (unsuccessful) attempts.
Enjoy!

You're connecting over TCP/IP?
Connecting to 169.254.224.180@9760

This is an an Auto IPv4 address assigned automatically when there is no DHCP server. What are you trying to do exactly?

Jasem,
that one is the address of the focuser boss black box that I used to connect via ethernet.
BTW, as a testament to the excellent (sarcasm) support Optec gives to non -Windows users, to know the IP address of the focuser I had to connect it via USB to Windows and then look for it in the setup.
A Mac user does not normally want to have anything to do with that virus under disguise.
Why they don’t write the IP on the aluminium of the black box is beyond me...
Back to the original topic, I must have saved the "connect over ethernet" configuration, because now when (unsuccessfully) trying to connect via USB I have first to wait until it’s done with the rigmarole of trying with Ethernet.
Only then it allows me to (unsuccessfully) try with USB-serial.
As of now, of the four connection modes I can do with USB/Ethernet on Mac/Windows, Ethernet kinda works with both, and USB works with Windows. The only one I’m interested in (USB on the Mac) is the only one not working.
Grrrrrrrrr

Hello Jasem,
this thread somehow died.
Any chance we can have a solution to my problem?

One possibility, can you try using the beta version of kstars for Mac 3.1.0 that I posted about a week ago to see if the problem exists there too? You might have an older version of the focuslynx.

Also, before connecting to a focus boss, I found it to be helpful to uncheck the requires sync option (don’t remember what it is called) because the focus boss already knows it’s position and doesn’t need a sync from the driver before use

But I did connect over usb just fine to it

Well for me at least, I have just had quite a bit to do recently. In January I had to completely remake a website at the same time that I had to finish up my students grades at the same time I was trying to rewrite the KStars for Mac build script. So I haven't had a lot of extra time to look into things like this. But now I should be able to get to them.
