This time I used 100% Pixinsight to stack the frames and stretch it. I think the stacking is way better than Siril (hardly a comparison between the two software really)

Is that with your new CEM25P? And which telescope? Still your old Megrez?

By the way, can you post a guide log for your CEM25P? That would tell me also whether your mount has the same issue with guiding in DEC as mine has.

The CEM25p is not live yet, those pictures are with the equipment in my signature.
I will of course post lots of info about my new mount once I start using it.

Really nice pic, though, I am really not sure the stacking by Siril is so bad. Pixinsight seems to just do a better job at normalization of the background as black. Also, looks like Pixinsight has a bit of unsharp masking applied. I am curious if you could not obtain similar results with some setting changes to Siril. Anyhow, very nice.

I know we can't really compare Siril and PixInsight, but I've found Siril (latest stable and beta version) to be really sluggish on my Mac (mac mini and laptop).
Maybe I haven't done something correctly on Siril, but I think I'm going to stick to PixInsight for the time being and learn more about it (after all, it's not a free software...).

I think all difference is that PixInsight move background more to the black so it looks better.
