Worked on this image for over two weeks. It is almost 14 hours worth of data, I do wish I had more OIII, the stack was very noisy. On my next target I am going to aim for 2x - 3x more than I had here. I have attached my astrobin image for equipment details.

Edit: Ekos is awesome, really getting the hang of it now. Scheduler is fantastic!

I also edited this in Pixinsight, which was my first time actually using it to its full extent. I did a free trial a few months ago but I was brand new to AP then and couldn't even stack so I never got to use it really.

34 x 300" Ha
70 x 300" SII
61 x 300" OIII

amazing work, thanks for sharing.
That camera you have the "ZWO ASI 183MM Pro Cool" is in my basket... but unless Zwo come up with a better camera in that price range, it is very likely the one I'm getting to replace the Atik314L+

Stephane, remember that the pixel size in the 183 is only 2.4 microns. You need a lot longer exposure to get the same amount of light on those pixels than with a 1600, for instance. I have both cameras and I sorely notice the difference!
Then again, you are going for a short focal length telescope, so you don't want to undersample too much either.

I do enjoy the 183. I like the fov it provides with my scope. Though I do at times find myself often wishing I had a wider fov. I would have went for the 1600 but I despise the microlensing issue. I wouldn't touch the 1600 for that reason, but that's only my opinion. I'd rather deal with amp glow than microlensing.

Why not go for the QHY 294? It's the same size as the 1600(I think) with better QE than both 1600 and 183. If it had come out sooner I would have went with that over the 183. I like the QHY varient has the possibility to go 1x1 to unlock the sensors full potential. Two cameras in one!

Interesting feature about this QHY294

Pixel Size
━━━━
Expanded Pixel Mode
11.7MP to 46.8MP
The IMX294 and IMX492 chips have 46.8 million 2.315um pixels, which Sony 2x2 bins on-chip to create the sensor's advertised 11.7 million 4.63um pixel array. The QHY294 Pro series camera is capable of locking and unlocking the on-chip binning to provide two readout modes. The first mode reads the sensor "locked" mode to produce 11.6mp images with 4.63um pixel size and 14 bits per pixel. The second read mode unlocks the binning to produce 46.8mp images with 2.315um pixel size at 12 bits per pixel

I have never seen microlensing with my ASI1600MM. Does it only show up with the MC version?

The 294 sounds like a great camera! I need to look into that one myself. So do I understand that correctly: That really is a 46 MP sensor that is being hardware (not software) binned? With a QE >90% That would be an awesome gain over the ASI1600!

I have never seen microlensing with my 2 ASI1600MM-C Pro’s either. Not sure if this only happened with the older models.

Hmm, maybe it was just with the newer models then. I know ZWO had said something about it. Said they couldn't fix it for some reason. Had to do with the manufacturer or something.

Which models do you guys have? Maybe I am wrong with the microlensing then

There was an issue with the lenses on the pixels of the sensor causing interference patterns. Not sure which models were affected but I don’t see it. I guess dithering helps :)

Possible that dithering makes the difference. At any rate the stars I am getting are crisp with no evidence of microlensing. My 1600MM is about 2 years old.

This is with the ASI1600MM-LHOS composite.

Beautifully done!!! This is awesome! I am capturing the heart nebula as we speak! 183 will not let me capture it with the fish head tho, so its just the heart! I love the way this fits into your fov!

An example of the lensing. It only happens with very bright stars. This was taken last year with my 1600MM-C Pro. For just about everything else though, it is a great camera.

@Deesk06, that is a great image, thanks for sharing!
