Hi,

for me (NUC with Ubuntu 22.04) these scripts work like a charm...

They worked well for me building a RPi OS on a Buster test system. I did not use them for my other system because I do not know how to clean up all the individual files especially for KStars and get back to a clean install when the next stable is released.

Replied by Chad on topic ubuntu ppa repository failure

i found these instructions for removing.
sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge ppa:mutlaqja/ppa

I have nightly in my apt repository and i get "unable to locate package Indi-full" and gsc.

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/indinightly
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indi-full kstars-bleeding gsc

Hi,

I am new here. I have been using StellarMate on my Raspberry Pi with success, but find running EKOS and KStars better on my mini pc using Ubuntu.
I recently upgraded to Jellyfish and getting the same error as above. Any news when the stable is nearer to be released?

Thanks.

Hi

Is there an update on this when the stable build will be released? EKOS and KStars works wonderfully on ubuntu on a mini pc.

Thanks.

Yep, you are right... However, since my system is so basic and I use it only to operate the telescope, I simply wipe it clean and start from scratch. I just use Lancaster's "backupOrRestore.sh" script to save Indi and Kstar preferences. github.com/rlancaste/AstroPi3

Thank you very much for your answer.
This should also work on A RPI running on ubuntu server with a mate desktop ? I found information only for raspbian OS.

Cheers,
Blaise

@jasem tried both stable and nightly but got errors back.

At the moment even on nightly:
E: Unable to locate package indi-full
E: Unable to locate package gsc

There are also a lot of discontinuities on github’s instructions to compile. A lot of missing packages.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
indi-asi : Depends: libindi1 but it is not going to be installed
indi-bin : Depends: libindi1 but it is not going to be installed
kconfig-frontends : Depends: libncurses-dev but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: qtbase5-dev but it is not going to be installed
libindi-dev : Depends: libindi1 (= 1.9.7~202207211032~ubuntu22.04.1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Any idea will be more than appreciated..I'm going back on forth for hours

Actually, for me, installing from the nightly works, even if some drivers are broken ( in particular, PlayerONE cameras do not work any more, at least for me). Also, compiling from source works.

I think we have to be a little bit patient until the next stable release is out... if I'm correct, that should happen on the 29th of July.
