I decided to move away from windows so I have downloaded Mint Linux and followed the instruction to add Ubuntu repository
All want well but this line: sudo apt-get install indi-full
I get "unable to locate package", When I look in the mutlaqja PPA the indi-full does not show. Is this related to the fact that I use Mint ? Or is there a known explanation for this ?
Thanks!

I think I would have to add a warning NOT to use Mint since it's pretty old compared to Ubuntu. It's recommended to download Kubuntu/Ubuntu 16.04 and then you won't have problems with the PPA.
ok, duly noted. fortunatly it was a test laptop. i was fooled by the uname -a saying Ubuntu 14.04.1-Ubuntu thinking that this would be alright
Better find out now than later.
Thank you for your switft answer.
You may be aware of this but I feel I should point out that the Ubuntu install page states "INDI Library is available for Ubuntu 14.04 and higher. To install latest INDI Library, run the following commands:" maybe this should be updated along with the warning on Mint Linux

I am running Kubuntu 16.04 LTS, libindi1 installed fine, but could not find package indi-full either.
Also a try to install indi-sx failed, no such package.
Mint Linux has a new version in Beta that runs on 16.4 (Linux Mint 18 “Sarah”)
I was able to install Kstars on it, seems to be working fine for now.
Problem solved for me and I am now a happy camper

I am getting the rror can't find this package and I came across your entry. I have no idea whn it posted so I am not sure my situation is a result of it. Are we supposed to add the date manually when we type a reply or ask a question?
What's more important is the answer to the technical issue.
