My system partition is full. I would like to install astrometry.net on an external hard drive. Is this possible? Thank you in advance!

Yes, this is possible. Install the astrometry.net package (small) to your system disk. For the big index files you can edit /etc/astrometry.cfg to point to a directory containing the index files.
Relevant content of the config file:
# In which directories should we search for indices?
add_path /usr/share/astrometry
Just replace /usr/share/astrometry with the path containing the index files.

Thank you for your reply !

I followed your recommendations. I moved the index files on the external hard drive and changed the path in the configuration file:
add_path /media/bilbo/FREECOM%20HDD/astrometry
I also downloaded the index-4200-xx.fits files. So I have now all index files from 4200 to 4219 in the same folder.
But when Ekos starts, this message appears:
Les fichiers index index-4200 à index-4204 sont absents. « Astrometry.net » ne pourra résoudre les images en l'absence des fichiers index manquants. Télécharger les fichiers index depuis http://www.astrometry.net
Index files index-4200 to index-4204 are absent. "Astrometry.net" may not resolve images in the absence of the missing index files. Download index files from www.astrometry.net
Is it because I directly downloaded the fits files for 4200 to 4204 indexes? (packets .deb for others)
What 's wrong ?

Maybe space (%20) could be causing this issue?

That's what I thought, so I added %20 to fill the space. Finally, rather than modifying the path I just rename the hard drive with gparted. It works now! :)
