That‘s exactly what to do...
Shutting down and cutting the power after the system is halted (give it a few seconds).

Cheers. Chris

ehhhhmmm... I don't get your point Astronerd.
Shutting down the OS before disconnecting the power prevents corrupted file systems and thus boot problems. Please correct me when I'm wrong.

I shut it down by clicking "shutdown" and waiting a minute or two. If you want to know exactly how long it takes to shut down, connect a monitor to see how long it takes.

The new version is more tolerant to sudden shutdowns as noted in the change log. So don't worry and shut it down when you're done.

all i see is the power button in the corner, click it and hit shutdown, what else ??? some period of time before cutting the power ??

I was replying to this post above, by saying “ no nothing else that’s how to shut it down”

Looks like I'm in the same boat as you. Where do you download the new update? I'm assuming I'm going to have to reinstall on the SD card? Is this something I can download from the StellarMate.com website? Can I do this on a MacBook Pro with Mojave or another OS? This is the screen I am stuck at and it's non-responsive.

Did you have to erase the SD Card first before flashing the new one on there?
