Nikon DSLR conflict was created by Jan

I am still in the expermit phase.
Have configured all devices via the wizard of Kstars, but I continue receive error messages. Sometimes I manage to connect my nikon D500 other times he connect to my Zwo ASI290MM mini. I have configured the ZWO ASI290MM mini as my Guide camera

Can someone give me a clear answer what goes wrong here

When I start ekos I get the next image

With the ZWO ASI290MM mini I get the following error messages

sometimes I also get this message from the tab nikon D500
And do not know how to manually disconnect it

So the first 2 things you posted here are not errors. The first item, the PTPCamera dialog is how you will be able to quit PTP Camera so that you can get your camera to be available to connect to it. If ptp camera keeps running, then it will block access, The dialog is a nice way to quit the program. The second item just says that you have not yet saved your driver configuration, it is not really an error per we, because that is optional.

The third item is actually a connection issue that you will want to investigate.

Thanks,

Rob

I was finally happy that the problems of DSLR Nikon D500 almost were solved (I thought) I see I have new problems.
I can not change the format to RAW (green box), but it is set in tab Image_Info. As well as the size I can not change to 5568 X 3712 pixel (red box)
My Preview is 15 x 23 - The size of the sensor chip is 23,5 x 15,7
If I can solve those problems then the DSLR Nikon D500 is solved. ( I hope )
I Hope someone can help me..

I am pretty sure that there is an error in the Driver for Nikon ...
I always put it on RAW in my Nikon DSLR
INDI Control panel always keeps it on RAW
if I take a picture it stays in "indi control panel" on RAW, but in reality he puts it on Jpeg
The INDI Nikon driver puts this on the DSLR on Jpeg Fine ..

Is there now no one who uses a Nikon DSLR on this forum that combs with the same problem .....

And is there already a solution for this problem....

Below are some images

When I search for NEF in your logs then the first line I find is this

[2019-04-20T13:20:30.922 CEST INFO ][ org.kde.kstars.indi] - Nikon DSLR DSC D500 : "[ERROR] NEF+Fine format is not supported. Please select another format. "

Not sure why that is logged though... Anyway, here is the configuration I use with my Canon camera, in case it helps.

Thank you for your response Wvreeven
Thanks for the screenshot
indeed, and that's why I thought it had an error in the indi driver or ekos. he always selects RAW + Jpeg - which combination I also use in the indi control panel "CaptureFormat"

My problems are similar "ish". I have been working on setting up the StellarMate for near a week, and I have yet to properly record an image.

In my case. I have had a myriad of DSLR issues, and each one I work out I end up with another. I almost had it working if I ran exclusively from the StellarMate via VSC. I actually (I think) finished a Polar Align but it crashed as it was recording the "solution".

I have found nothing that will help you, and don't want to hijack your thread, so I will start a fresh one.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

So as far as the driver is concerned, it is indeed setting the correct format. I suspect there is a mismatch between what the libgphoto2 is reporting and what the camera actually support. This is most likely a bug in upstream libgphoto2 but we have to track it down in hopes of getting a fix.

So find out what formats are reported by the driver, and what formats are reported by the camera and in what order? If you change format to the one below NEF for example, does it end up selecting the next item in the menu in the camera?
