Calculating my FOV

Calculating my FOV was created by Rene

Hi,

Have a very simple question. I need to download some astrometry.net solving files. To do that I need to calculate my FOV. I've put in my telescope focal length and camera and have the following values (in arc mins)

32.1' x 18.3'

To get my FOV do I simply multiply the two or is there another way?

Thanks in advance

If you go to Ekos astrometry options, it would suggest which astrometry files you can download based on your FOV. You can also download them directly from within Ekos.

Hi Jasem,

Thanks for the info. I can't seem to find where it suggest the files I should download or where in EKOS I can download them. Do you have any screenshots?

Thanks.

So to be clear as I’m using Ekos on Windows

1. Can I use remote solving
2. If I can do I need to set the api to the StellarMate IP
3. If I can’t I need to download ansvr. Does Ekos still tell me which files to download?

With StellarMate, just add "Astrometry" driver to your equipment profile (it's found under Aux) and then select Remote in the align page. No need to put any IP address. The IP address setting is when using ANSVR or similar service on Windows.
