INDI Library v2.0.6 is Released (02 Feb 2024)

Bi-monthly release with minor bug fixes and improvements

QHY cameras (PoleMaster and Orion Starshoot Guider) no longer recognized

There shouldn't be anything INDI related in /usr/local, so delete everything there. I just tested under 18.04 and all libqhy and indi-qhy packages installed fine.

I thought that you would say that :-), so I already went ahead and did that, then purged indi-full followed by autoremove of the obsolete packages, and reinstalled indi-full.

Now I am back at square one:

The PoleMaster is being recognized as an attached USB device (ID 1618:0940) but it does not seem to get initialized. I also plugged in my Orion SSAG which is a QHY5 and it also shows up as 1856:0011.

So two different QHY cameras are not being recognized.

Purge, autoremove and installation of indi-full gave no errors.

And my ZWO ASI120MM-S is being recognized fine after the indi purge and reinstall, so I think that means that the purge and reinstall process went as planned.

I updated to the latest Indi-Full driver set yesterday on my Zotac Mini PC (running Ubuntu MATE18) and installation went without a hitch, as it did on my Pi4. Notably, I did NOT install the QHY SDK 6.0.4 on that machine first, so this was a regular update to the latest Indi. I used the stable (not nightly) PPA for install via command line, as usual.

However, after the update my PoleMaster was also no longer recognized.

I don't see how this can be anything else but related to the Indi update.

Does nobody else have that problem with their QHY cameras?

As on the Pi4, my ZWO cameras are working fine and those drivers were also updated during the same Indi install, I believe.

Is there a way to roll back the QHY drivers to an earlier state?

Did you ever get this resolved?

I have a QHY294C and I got a bit further but INDI continues to not recognize that a QHY camera is attached, and that's with the SDK installed.

Yes, that went away after Jasem updated the SDK, I believe. I had to purge the system of Kstars and Indi and then reinstall. I think that did the trick, but I don't remember all the steps anymore. It was a while ago.

Anyway, the cameras are recognized again now and they are functioning fine, also with the latest update I did on the weekend.

Hello, I think I run into a similar problem. Whenever I plugged in the polemaster to my pi 4, the main (QHY168C) and guide cameras (QHY5L-ii-m) won't be able to connect. Your case should not be exactly the same as mine but would like to hear how did you get it resolved, thanks.

Here is the post I initiated:

It was resolved with an update of the Indi Drivers and the SDK.
You may have to uninstall/purge indi-full, then reinstall indi-full.
That's what I am doing these days when there is a driver issue and that seems to work.
